Dan & Sam Taylor: Our Story

Before developing their home in Keyhole Bay, Dan and his wife Sam made their home in Jacksonville, Florida where they owned and operated a commercial construction company. Their company specialized in the construction and renovation of medical, retail, and commercial facilities and complexes. Their construction and business experience, however, runs much deeper.

Dan’s undergraduate and graduate education is in engineering and business. He earned a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering as well as an MBA. Sam’s education is in Business Marketing. Dan owned and operated a successful residential construction company for over ten years before expanding into industrial construction where he served as project manager for a wide variety of companies and governments around the world.

As a consulting engineer, Dan oversaw the design and construction of dormitories, dining facilities, and a municipal gymnasium in the US. He oversaw the construction of a dam in Jordan and a wastewater treatment plant in Somalia. Additionally, he has lived in Egypt and Saudi Arabia where he was responsible for the construction of a mix of commercial and industrial facilities. Dan oversaw the design, zoning and planning, utility grid installation and housing construction for five settlements of between 2,000 and 7,000 people each in the Middle East,

Dan and Sam leverage their combined business and engineering experience to make Keyhole Bay a home for themselves and an exciting community in which to live. Both Sam and Dan can be seen on-site daily, working to realize the dream that is Keyhole Bay.

Dan is also involved in various fundraising efforts in the Bay Islands including the new women´s and children´s shelter, Rock Sculptures Made on Roatan for Schools, Medicines for Roatan, and others efforts to support education. Dan Taylor is a well known name in the fundraising community.
