Dan & Sam Taylor: Our Story

Prior to becoming fully engaged with Keyhole Bay, Dan and his wife Sam made their home in Jacksonville, Florida where they owned and operated a commercial construction company. Their company specialized in the construction and renovation of medical, retail and commercial facilities and complexes. Their construction and business experience, however, runs much deeper.

Dan’s undergraduate and graduate education is in engineering and business. He earned a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering as well as an MBA. Sam’s education is in Business Marketing. Dan owned and operated a successful residential construction company for over ten years before expanding into industrial construction where he served as project manager for a wide variety of companies and governments around the world.

As a consulting engineer, Dan oversaw the design and construction of dormitories, dining facilities, and a municipal gymnasium in the US. He oversaw the construction of a dam in Jordan and a wastewater treatment plant in Somalia, before their civil war. He lived in Egypt and Saudi Arabia where he was responsible for the construction of a mix of commercial and industrial facilities. When a number of the Arab countries began using their oil resources to develop new settlements of people to relieve congestion in their cities, Dan oversaw the design, zoning and planning, utility grid installation and housing construction for five settlements of between 2,000 and 7,000 people each.

Dan and Sam are leveraging their combined business and engineering experience to make Keyhole Bay a home for themselves and an exciting community in which to live.
